John Rickus
Chairman | John was elected Chairrman of the Anglo-Chilean Society on Thursday 17th February 2011. John lived in Chile from 1988 to 1991 and was involved in the Escondida copper mine from 1996 to 2005. John is a geologist by training and worked for Rio Tinto from 1994 to 2008. |
Carmen PearsonVice-Chairman | Carmen Pearson was born in Valparaíso, Chile. She married David Pearson in 1982 and moved to the United Kingdom in 1983. After obtaining a BA Honours Degree in Humanities at the Open University, she studied at The Open College of Art (obtaining a Diploma in Art and Design) as well as Picture Restoration at The London School of Picture and Frame Restoration. She not only works on commisions, restoring paintings and frames for both artists and organisations, but also buys and restores paintings for resale.

Robert Hart
Treasurer | Now retired, spent 35 years in various financial posts with Unilever, finishing as financial director of Unilever Italia. Between 1978 and 1983 he was financial director of Lever Chile, a highlight of his career.

Carolina Arriagada
| Carolina Arriagada Peters came to England to study in the year 2004, she is Head of Iberia & Latin American at London & Partners, the official promotional agency for London. She is responsible for promoting London in German, Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries in Europe and Latin America. She manages client relationaships on a mix portfolio of FDI investors into London, taking ownership of the entire cycle starting from identifying targets up to completion of the projects and further business growth. Carolina travels extensively to market to meet clients, to speak at seminars and to undertake networking activities to raise London's proofile within local and international business comunities. She bring a wealth of commercial experience to assist clients in setting up and growing their business in London. Prior to joining Think London she worked for Asia House, Ultramar Holding and set up her own PR and CMR consultancy. Carolina holds a degree in communication , an MBA from University Adolfo Ibañez and a Masters in Corporate Communication from University of Westminster. She is also a part time coach, trainer and is working on her first book. |
Magdalena Jones
| Magdalena was born in Santiago and moved to the UK in 1984. She worked in Insurance and is now an assistant teacher at Epsom College. Amongst her responsibilities is organizing student exchanges between UK and Chile.

Alasdair Grant | First visited Chile in 1989 and then returned in 1992 to spend a year studying at the Universidad Catolica in Santiago as part of degree in Latin American Studies. Having graduated, returned again to Chile to work on TV projects with Canal 13 and the BBC. He has returned regularly to Chile and travelled extensively all over the country including some of the remotest parts such as Tortel, Puerto Williams and the Juan Fernandez islands.

Cristián León | CristiánLeón is a journalist by profession. He has worked for the Embassy of Chile since 1999, first as Press Attaché andcurrently as the Head of the Cultural Department. Prior to his work at theEmbassy, Cristián developed his career as a journalist for El MercurioNewspaper, the most influential daily newspaper in Chile, where he was the general coordinatorfor Special Editions. He has also experience in Public Relations. He worked for the ComisiónChilena de Energía Nuclear (Chilean Commission for Atomic Energy) as a PRofficer and at ASK Comunicaciones where he was involved with the management ofaccounts such as Walt Disney Chile,National Airlines, Avery Dennison and AT&T among others. Cristián was alsothe general manager for the British Chilean Chamber of Commerce in London and is currently the President of theAssociation of Cultural Attachés of Latin America Spain and Portugal (Acalasp).

G. Claudio Durán | Born in La Calera, Chile. He married Clare Elvidge in 1985 and moved to England the same year. Claudio obtained a Diploma in Business Studies (DMS) and later a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bedfordshire. He is a Director of 2 Nursing Care companies. He is passionate about helping the most needed in Chile, having formed a charity in 2005 "Elisa Educational Trust" to help young poor people to gain a qualification. He was given an honorary Red Cross Volunteer Award in 2008 for the help that he and his wife Clare gives to the Red Cross in La Calera. He is the representative of Chile for the Anglo Latin American Foundation, he also is the Company Secretary and Treasurer for ALAF. |
Gonzalo Cuadra
| Graduate in Civil Engineering from Pontificia Catolica University of Chile. Has been working for Codelco, Chile's largest copper producer, for many years. He is Executive Director of Codelco's subsidiaries in London for the last 20 years. Prior to Codelco he worked for Soquimich, producer of nitrates and Billiton, now part of the mining group BHPBilliton. Is an active participant in many institutions in the copper and molybdenum industry and those promoting relations between the UK and Chile. He has served on the Board of the London metal Exchange, European Copper Institute, International Molybdenum Association, Copper Development Association of the UK, and the British Chilean Chamber of Commerce |
Georgina Roberts Editor of Chilean News | Born in Antofagasta, Chile, and British citizen since 1978. Educated at Universidad de Chile in Santiago and Universidad del Norte in Antofagasta. Lived in South America, Caribbean and the Middle East. Has been a member of the Society since 1986. A regular contributor to Chilean News, before becoming the editor in 1999. One of the founder members of the Group of Chilean Ladies in London and its present Chairperson.

George Silva-Rozzi | Mr Silva-Rozzi was born in Chile in 1956 and moved to England in 1979 where he has been working in Corporate Banking in the City of London for more 25 years, first for PrivatBanken (Nordea Banking Group) and then, BBVA. He has a vast experience in managing banking relationship with large British & Nordic multinationals with significant presence in Latin America including Chile. He was made a Director of BBVA Group in 2005. Mr Silva-Rozzi holds a B.A.degree in Economics from Universidad de Chile and MSc from The University of Southampton (UK), and he was until recently Vice-Chairman of The British & Chilean Chamber of Commerce. |
Henriette Subercaseaux | Henriette moved to Chile at the age of 18 year old, her father was one of the Directors of the Philips company,one of the largest companies stablished in the Netherlands in 1937 . Henny later married Pedro Subercaseaux Larain who unfortunatelly died in 1979. Henny has been involved in many volunteer positions including the Royal Academy of Arts in London. |
Iberia Torres-West | Iberia is from Pucon, a tourist town in southern Chile. She has spent much of her life overseas in various countries and has been in London since 1992. She went to university in Chile, Venezuela, the US and the UK. She is a sociologist and a photographer. She has always maintained close links with Chile, and a lot of her photographic projects are related to Chile. She is currently working on two books, one on religious art and the other about Pucon. |
Michael Roberts
(Secretary) | Michael is a retired telecommunication engineer, he worked for Cable and Wireless as an expatriate engineer and his first posting was Chile from 1962 to 1967, first in Antofagasta and then in Santiago. He met his wife Georgina in Antofagasta. Michael also served in other postings throughout South America including Bolivia and Argentina,also the Caribbean, Arabian Gulf, Nigeria and Zaire. |
