Opening day: 'The Links that Last exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Queen's visit to Chile'

November 10, 2018

The Links that Last exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Queen's visit to Chile was inaugurated at the Embassy on November 8th with a private view.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Gallagher noted that the Queen and Prince Philip arrived in Santiago on the 50th anniversary of Armistice Day. He said that the fact that they were willing to be away on such an important date highlighted the strength of the links between the UK and Chile.

Sociologist and photographer Iberia Torres, who curated the exhibition, gave an entertaining talk full of anecdotes about the Royal Couple's historic visit. This delighted the packed audience, which included many ACS members.

The exhibition is open until November 29th on weekdays from 10am to 5pm.

A parallel exhibition will be held in Santiago at the Casa Museo Eduardo Frei Montalva between November 15th and March 31st of next year.
