Chelsea Physic Garden visit

On Thursday 26 September the Anglo Chilean Society organised a private guided tour focused on Chilean flora at Chelsea Physic Garden and it was a worthwhile event and both interesting and amusing.

Valerie our guide showed us Chilean plants such as Aloysia Citriodora (Lemon Verbena), Brigmansiasanguinea (Angel’s Trumpet), Dendroseris litoralis Skotts. (Cabbage Tree) and many more!

Since 1673 Chelsea Physic Garden has occupied four acres of land on the edge of the Thames near Albert Bridge. First established by the Apothecaries in order to grow medicinal plants, this extraordinary garden in London has had a wide-reaching impact around the world.

Finally a big thank to our member Robin Martin-Holland who is also member of Chelsea Physic Garden, to Valerie our splendid and very knowledgeable guide and to all our members that joined the tour.
