The Anglo Chilean Society’s Executive Committee is delighted to have Fiona Clouder as its new Chairman and it is looking forward to working with her in her new capacity.
Fiona has been involved with Chile for many years, captivated from her first visit on holiday and then through her work with the FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office). First, from 2011 -2014 as part of the 'Canning Agenda' to build and deepen relations with Latin America, then from 2014-2018 as Her Majesty's Ambassador to Chile and since March 2020 as part of her role as Regional Ambassador for Latin America and the Caribbean, COP26 - the UN Climate Change conference. All this has led to a great interest in Chile, many professional contacts, and good friends. Also, from her career lots of interests in business, defence and science and innovation, as well as the environment and ocean issues. She has travelled to many beautiful places in Chile, and she is interested too in history, literature and music. She has a lifelong interest in Antarctica and enjoy researching maritime history. She has participated in several events with the Anglo Chilean Society in the past.
