LINKS THAT LAST: 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE VISIT OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II

TO CHILE (1968-2018) EXHIBITION

Since 2015, Iberia Torres Abelaira has been researching the official visit of Queen Elizabeth

and the Duke of Edinburgh to Chile in 1968.

The aim of the project is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that visit in the context of British-Chilean friendship that goes back to the years of struggle for the country’s independence.

The exhibition will include press clippings, official documents, short films and photographs of the visit, interviews with people who had some kind of relationship with the trip and photographs

of these informants taken during the interviews.

The Anglo Chilean Society is proud to be sponsoring the exhibition which will be open

to the public from November 9th.

Embassy of Chile, 37-41 Old Queen Street, London SW1H 9JA
