Chilean Music Concert 'Puro Chile' by Carlos Cid, classical guitarist
Chilean guitarist Carlos Cid will perform a concert which is part of his third Europe tour. The program include works by Violeta Parra, Victor Jara, Javier Contreras, Javier Farias y Tamara Miller with the World Premiere of her piece 'Vaho Albo del Este' in tribute to the Cordillera de Los Andes.

About the Event
Carlos’s tour in Europe will perform classical guitar music by Chilean composers. Some of them are well known composers and some are new young composers such as Tamara Miller, student of composition in the city of Dresden. Carlos will perform her "Vaho Albo del Este", a tribute to the Andes mountain range written especially for this tour and a "world premiere"

More about Carlos
Hailing from the city of Lota, Chile, Carlos Cid has had more than 10 years on the Chilean music scene.
He has done two concert tours in important parts of Europe with the aim of spreading the work of Violeta Parra in the cities of Brussels, Hamburg, Strasbourg, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon.
During 2008 and 2009 he studied at the "Cultural Corporation of Steel Artists" in Concepción.
In 2010 he started a career of Pedagogy in music education at the "Universidad de Concepción". At the same time, he began his guitar studies at the "Laurencia Contreras Lema" conservatory at the Universidad del Biobío, with the classical guitarist Isabel Almeyda.
In 2012, he entered the bachelor’s degree course in musical interpretation including classical guitar at the "Universidad Austral de Chile". In 2017 he obtained the degree of Licentiate.
He has attended master classes with guitarists of great international fame, among them, Marcin Dylla and Wiktoria Szubelak (Poland), Juan Antonio Sánchez, Carlos Pérez, Luis Orlandini, Romilio Orellana, Alberto Cumplido and Camilo Sauvalle (Chile), Berta Rojas (Paraguay), Héctor González (Colombia), Tatyana Ryzhkova (Russia), Juan Falú and Eduardo Egüez (Argentina), Fabio Montomoli (Italy) and Sébastien Deshaires (Canada).
He has been invited to play on three occasions in the important "Festival Entrecuerdas" as a prominent young guitarist, held in the city of Valdivia.
During 2017 he gave guitar lessons at the "Artists of Steel Cultural Corporation" in Concepción. He also worked at the "Association of Artistic Educators of the South" teaching the work of Violeta Parra in schools in the Biobío region. He taught guitar workshops in the "Padre Manuel d'Alzon School" in his home city of Lota.
From September 2017 to May 2018 he participated in a student exchange at the "University Alfonso X el Sabio" in Madrid, Spain, sponsored by the guitarist Pilar Rius Fortea. During this period, he collaborated with the "Hispano-Chilean Chamber of Commerce", giving concerts and spreading Chilean music in Spain.
