If you are seeking funding from the Anglo Chilean Society, kindly download and fill out the form below after reading our grant criteria at the end of this page.
The Grants Committee meets in March and September. Applications should be submitted by 31st January or the 31st of July for the respective rounds. Your application should be in English and give cost details in British pounds. We will aim to notify you of the outcome of your application within one month of the meeting.
Once you have prepared the application, please forward the completed document to info@anglochileansociety.org
The Grant Coordinator will then circulate your application among the committee members for further consideration and discussion.

The Society has very limited funds available, so grants are generally in the range of £1,000 to £2,000. Only in exceptional case are larger grants made.
THE ACS FUNDS
We are an apolitical and an areligious organisation. The Executive Committee reserves the right to reject projects that do not adhere to this policy.
The Anglo Chilean Society manages two key funds that strengthen cultural and charitable ties between Chile and the United Kingdom. The Alan Macdonald Endowment Fund supports Chilean artists by providing financial assistance for projects that promote Chilean arts and culture to British audiences across the UK. Alongside it, the General Fund supports charitable initiatives across Chile, reinforcing social, cultural and educational links between both countries.

Alan Macdonald Endowment Fund (AME)
The Alan Macdonald Endowment Fund was established in memory of Alan Macdonald, a long‑standing member of the Anglo Chilean Society and its Executive Committee, who passed away in 2010. Created through a generous contribution from his family, the fund is managed by the Society to support Chilean artists and strengthen Anglo‑Chilean cultural relations.
Its purpose is to use the fund’s income to provide practical encouragement for Chilean artists by providing financial assistance for projects that promote Chilean arts and culture to British audiences across the UK.
AME Fund Grant Criteria
FOR BOOKS:
To qualify, a book must be in English, new to UK audiences, and must educate people in the UK about Chile, with priority given to Chilean authors.
The maximum grant available to support a book is £500.
Grant recipients must agree to hold a free event in the UK for Society members to present the book; the Society may provide wine for this event.
FOR PLAYS AND FILMS:
To qualify for support, a play or film must be in English or have English subtitles, be new to UK audiences, and educate people in the UK about Chile. The Society determines the grant amount and may choose not to award a grant at any given time.
Grant recipients must agree to hold a free screening or presentation in the UK for Society members; the Society may provide wine for the event. Repeat submissions are not accepted.
FOR RECITARLS/CONCERTS:
To qualify for support, a music event must educate UK audiences about Chilean culture, with priority given to Chilean musicians and composers. The Society decides how many events to support each year and the amount of each grant.
Grant recipients must commit to holding a free performance event in the UK for Society members; the Society may provide wine for the occasion.
General Fund
The General Fund supports charitable initiatives in Chile, helping strengthen social, cultural and educational links between both countries.
To raise resources for these purposes, the Society organises lectures, wine tasting, conferences, book launches, social events, and other meetings creating opportunities for the community to come together while contributing to meaningful projects that benefit Chilean organisations and communities.
General Fund Grant Criteria
Our objective is helping persons resident in Chile who are in conditions of hardship or distress. As our resources are limited, we aim to make grants which have a high impact for causes which are less likely to receive help from major donors. Grant applications should:
Applicants must clearly identify their nature, including legal status, financial resources, and their ability to complete the proposed project. They should also specify the individuals or community requiring assistance and explain any connection to the Anglo Chilean population in Chile.
The application must identify the actual need, state the amount of grant requested, and explain how the assistance will address that need. As a general principle, and in case of a natural disaster, the Society’s support is aimed at the post‑disaster recovery phase, rather than immediate disaster relief.
Applicants must disclose any assistance already received from the Society or other sources for the same need. They must also undertake to report back on the outcome of the support provided and supply any proof of success or otherwise as requested by the Society.
Repeated submissions for the same cause will not be considered.
