Salabanda Duo
Salabanda, the latest collaboration between Sally Beck and Pato Banda, combines a varied music program for flute and bass. Sally and Pato started this unique project in 2018 with the aim of exploring the many tonal and stylistic possibilities that this unique combination of instruments offers.

About the Event
Salabanda is a duo made up of Chilean bassist Pato Banda and British flautist Sally Beck. Having both grown up and studied in their respective homelands and then travelled and played professionally around the world, they formed this collaboration in Cologne, Germany to create music inspired by their backgrounds and diverse musical interests. With influences from traditional Chilean music, jazz, classical and folk music, Salabanda’s music is acoustic, eclectic and colourful. This hour-long concert, exclusively live streamed for the Anglo Chilean Society, will be a guided tour from Chile to the UK, with a few stopovers on the way. Arrangements and self-composed works will reveal the many possibilities this unusual pairing of instruments inspires. After the performance, there will be time to interact with the musicians in a question and answer session – to get to know them and their music a little better.
