From our member Thomas Kelly:

'In 1925 my grandfather William F G N Barttelot traveled to Chile to start work with Cochrane Limited who were working on the electrification of Santiago by the building of generators in the Andes. He lived in Santiago and lodged with the Stirling family. He eventually married their daughter Juanita, my grandmother. They came back to England in 1931 but maintained a firm link to the country, keeping their passports and often visiting cousins. Through the Anglo-Chilean I am pleased to share some of his photographs of the time and the original album will be donated to the National Library in Santiago (Biblioteca Nacional de Chile, Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural, Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio, Gobierno de Chile).'
