'A Thousand Hands' by Arantxa Ortiz

1 min read

We are delighted to share that the Anglo-Chilean Society, through the Alan MacDonald Endowment, has awarded a grant to support Arantxa Ortiz's musical project A Thousand Hands. Led by the Chilean songwriter and anthropologist, the project explores themes of migration, belonging and cultural identity through original music inspired by Chilean folklore. The funding will contribute to research in Chile, studio recording in the UK, and a series of performances that will bring these stories to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. This support reflects the Society's commitment to encouraging Chilean creativity, celebrating shared cultural heritage, and strengthening the cultural links between Chile and the United Kingdom.
