It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Heap, a cherished member of the Anglo Chilean Society and a beloved figure in his community. Peter passed away at the age of 79.
Peter was a dedicated and active member of the Anglo Chilean Society, serving as Treasurer on the Executive Committee in the 1990’s. His contributions to the Society were immeasurable, and he was a regular and enthusiastic participant in our social events, always eager to support and celebrate Chilean culture.
A man of great generosity, Peter was deeply committed to charitable work throughout his life. In 2018, he was honoured with an MBE for his outstanding services to the community in Essex. Over a period of more than 10 years, he tirelessly raised over £17,500 for St Clare Hospice, where he was a dedicated fundraising volunteer. Peter also supported a wide range of other causes, including the Red Cross, the local Poppy Appeal, and the Essex Community Foundation.
Peter is survived by his wife, our friend Carmen Gloria, and their children Adam, Melanie, Anthea and Christopher. Our hearts go out to Carmen Gloria and the family at this incredibly difficult time. Peter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Peter. Your kindness, generosity, and support for others will never be forgotten.
