Opening the Doors to a New Generation of Readers
Through its Grants Programme, the Anglo-Chilean Society was delighted to support the Instituto Chileno Británico de Cultura de Valparaíso (ICBC) with funding to revitalise its historic library and create a dedicated children’s reading corner. This initiative will help transform an underutilised space into a vibrant community hub that promotes reading, English language learning, and cultural exchange, while making a unique collection of English-language books more accessible to future generations. By creating an inviting environment for children and families, the project will encourage literacy, spark curiosity, strengthen community engagement, and inspire a lifelong love of reading. Beyond enhancing the library itself, this investment will help open new educational opportunities for young people, fostering skills, confidence, and cultural connections that can positively shape their future.
