WILDFIRES APPEAL

LET'S TRANSFORM ADVERSITY INTO SOLIDARITY 

In February 2024 the Valparaíso region of Chile was hit by devastating wildfires which represent the country´s worst natural disaster since the earthquake in 2010. According to preliminary figures, the fires have left a death toll of 135 persons with 3 still missing, and resulted in thousands being displaced from their destroyed or damaged homes.

AFFECTED AREAS

  • Valparaíso

  • Viña del Mar

  • Quilpué

  • Villa Alemana

TRAGIC NUMBERS

These tragic events left a toll of: 

  • 135 fatalities

  • 3 missing persons

  • 11,350 hectares affected

  • approximately 21,230 people impacted

  • 8,190 homes damaged
