About the Event

Cristina began her formal studies in the Liceo Experimental Artistico de Santiago de Chile, finishing her undergraduate in the  Universidad Mayor Conservatoire with maximum distinction. Among other accolades, she was awarded the 2nd prize in the Alapp competition (Santiago de Chile, 2003) and she reached the final round in international level of the “Claudio Arrau” competition (Quilpué, Chile, 2004).

After graduating, she taught in Chile's Universidad Mayor, Universidad Alberto Hurtado and for several years at the Conservatory of the University of Talca, also being the official pianist of the University Choir. In 2016 she obtained her Masters Degree in Music Performance, graduating with Distinction at the University of York, England.

Always seeking to grow professionally, Crisina has attended as an active pianist, Music Festivals such as: Piano Mercosur (Argentina, 2013 and 2018), Verao Classico ( Lisbon, 2016) and Semaine Internationale de piano (Switzerland, 2014 and 2018).

Since then her work has included roles as Head of Music in Yangon, Myanmar, where she worked with people from different countries of South Asia, and as Piano Professor at the International School Nido de Aguilas.

Cristina has managed her career as a pianist independently, giving concerts in several regions of Chile as well as abroad, many times being sponsored by the Government of Chile, and she has performed in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Portugal, England, Switzerland,Myanmar and Easter Island. In 2019, Cristina launched her first solo album, called 'Pianismo Latinoamericano, vol 1', in which she performs music by south american composers, such as Alberto Ginastera and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Since 2019, she is the president of the Chilean NGO 'Sur Sonoro', which organises the 1st edition of the International Piano Festival 'Paisajes Clasico-Latinoamericanos', which will be held in April 2020, in the city of  Valparaiso, Chile. (World Heritage Site, UNESCO, 2003)
