The Anglo Chilean Society has supported Musiko Musika with a donation of £1500 from our Alan Macdonald Endowment. The grant will help to support towards the costs of two initiatives that will be part of the second Voces Chilenas y Latinoamericanas en Gran Bretaña Festival, a festival of Chilean and Latin American music, poetry and culture over three days at the Lyric Hammersmith. The festival will provide high quality performances of the work of Chilean artists and those they collaborate with in the context of living, working, creating and performing in the UK, particularly musicians, composers and poets. The festival aims to reach a wider audience than the 2016 festival, enabling people unfamiliar with Chilean culture to experience local, national and international talent. We believe that it is needed because it offers a unique opportunity to empower and recognize the Chilean and wider Latin American community as a distinctive cultural community in the UK.
