On Sunday 14th July the Anglo Chilean Society held its annual summer ‘Asado’. The event was kindly hosted by our long-standing member Alicia Rickus at their wonderful home in Banstead-Surrey.

The setting was perfect and the sunshine was glorious. Alicia's home had plenty to keep the young busy including an indoor swimming pool, games and lots of space to run, rest and have fun.

This year we had the privilege of having chef, Elliot Cantrell and his wife Alexandra in charge of the BBQ whilst Vivian Fernandez served her delicious empanadas, salads and service by Jorge. Chris Hopewell did a great job running the bar as he does every year!

More than 90 people joined us, including the Ambassador David Gallagher, Julio Mendez – Counsellor and Jaime Munoz the Chilean Consulate, and lots of children of all ages and members and friends of the Society.

The Society are very grateful to all those who donated prizes for the raffle which included a monkey puzzle sapling won by ACS Secretary Monica Volpin.

The chairman, Alasdair Grant thanked all those who had worked so hard to make the event such a success.
