Former teacher's hope to ensure forgotten footballing brothers are remembered

A blue plaque has been commissioned to remember the forgotten Robledo brothers, who are the first South Americans to play professional football in Britain.

George and Ted moved to Barnsley in 1932 and became integral members of the Newcastle United team which won 2 successive FA Cups. They played in a local schools competition called the Totty Cup, which is still going today.

It was while researching the history of the cup, former teacher and competition organiser Chris Brook discovered the footballing brothers and embarked on a mission to make sure their legacy lives on. Chris Dawkes reports.
