The ACS team was fully immersed in organising the Mining Conference 2026, which proved to be a tremendous success. Bringing together senior government representatives, industry leaders, investors, and members of the UK-Chile business community during LME Week, the conference provided an outstanding platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Chile's next mining chapter.

We were honoured to welcome Francisco Pérez Mackenna, Chile's Foreign Affairs Minister, and Daniel Mas, Minister of Economy and Mining, alongside leading voices from across the mining sector. Discussions highlighted Chile's strengths as a global supplier of copper and critical minerals, its ambitious investment pipeline, and the importance of international partnerships in driving sustainable growth.

A special thank you to our Chairman, Fiona Clouder, Clyde & Co for hosting and co-organising the event, the Embassy of Chile in the UK, our distinguished speakers, attendees, and the many Anglo-Chilean Society committee members and volunteers whose dedication and hard work made this conference such a success.

We are also deeply grateful to our sponsors for their valued support: Anglo American, ME Elecmetal, BHP, London Metal Exchange (LME), Freeport-McMoRan, Teck Resources, Great Southern Copper, and CleanTech Lithium.

The conference reinforced the strong and enduring relationship between Chile and the United Kingdom, highlighting the opportunities ahead as both countries work together to support innovation, sustainability, and investment in the mining sector. We look forward to continuing the conversation and strengthening the partnerships that will help shape the future of mining.
