What an Evening!

We had a fantastic event yesterday, with a brilliant turnout and an unforgettable atmosphere!

The evening featured a captivating talk by Spencer Vignes, who brought to life the extraordinary story of George Robledo, the legendary Chilean striker who made football history with Newcastle United. It was an honour to have Elizabeth Robledo, George’s daughter, with us—along with other family members, our Ambassador Ximena Fuentes, and many dear friends and Anglo Chilean Society committee members.

This wasn’t just about football—it was about connection, heritage, and the journeys that shape our shared identity. George Robledo, the first non-British-registered foreign player to become England’s top scorer, remains a powerful symbol of resilience and cultural pride.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made this such a special occasion.
