Chilean British University, Santiago

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

The Universidad Chileno-Britanica de Cultura (the UCBC) was founded in 2006 as an off-shoot of the Chilean British Institute, itself founded in 1938. Whereas the Iinstitute teaches English the University trains teachers of English. HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex is its Patron.

The University already has an extensive library of English literature and has now embarked on a project to expand its collection with any material charting the history of Anglo-Chilean relations, which could include books, newspapers, diaries, reports, letters, photographs, wills etc.

Any material submitted will be digitalized and returned to owners intact unless it is donated permanently.

If you have any material which could be of interest you are kindly asked to get in touch with the leader of the project, Anne Westmacott, either by email to awestmacott@ubritanica.cl or writing to her at Santa Lucía Nº 124, Santiago, Chile.

The Anglo Chilean Society supports this interesting project and encourages members to co-operate wherever possible.
