The Society celebrated Christmas 2018 on 12th December in the splendid surroundings of John Mitchell Fine Paintings Gallery in Mayfair. The Gallery is holding an exhibition of paintings of Chilean Patagonia by the artist James Hart Dyke. John Mitchell Fine Paintings kindly offered the Society the use of the gallery for one of our events.
The Christmas drinks party was most appropriate to celebrate surrounded by beautiful paintings of Mojon Rojo in Chalten, Fitz Roy and Torres del Paine, to name just a few. You can see the collection by visiting the gallery at 17 Avery Row, Mayfair, London W1K 4BF.
The event was well attended including Sir Chris Bonington and his Chilean wife Loreto. Sir Chris climbed Torres del Paine in 1963.
