Our Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 26 February at the Chilean Embassy, bringing together many members for an evening that celebrated continuity, friendship, and new beginnings.

The Chair, Fiona Clouder, opened the meeting by thanking everyone for coming and gave a special welcome to Ambassador Ximena Fuentes, who will soon return to Chile. Fiona thanked her for the dedication and close collaboration she has shown throughout her time in London, supporting the Society at events, hosting gatherings at the Residence, and helping in countless ways.

The Ambassador replied by saying how much she had enjoyed her stay in the UK and how warmly she had been welcomed from the moment she arrived. She wished the Society continued success in supporting good causes in Chile and in promoting Chilean culture across the UK.

We were also pleased to be joined by the incoming British Ambassador to Chile, David Concar, whom Fiona invited to share a few words of greeting as he prepares for his new posting.

The Society was delighted to welcome two new members to the Executive Committee, James Slater and Roberto Guilloff, whose experience and enthusiasm will strengthen our work in the year ahead.
