The Foundation provides education to students with a high level of vulnerability (98%) and lacks sufficient resources to meet the many needs of the school community.
The school is located in a semi-rural area, where the population is primarily engaged in agricultural work. In order to continue their secondary and higher education, young people are often forced to migrate to other cities, with Temuco being the closest and offering greater opportunities. As such, the institution serves students from diverse family and socioeconomic backgrounds, mostly from the commune of Teodoro Schmidt, with a significant proportion of Mapuche ancestry (47%) and a vulnerability index of 93% for primary education, rising to 96% for secondary education (Student Vulnerability Index – JUNAEB, 2025). A large number of the families served by the school are affected by dysfunctional family structures and face a range of challenges that directly impact students and their educational development.
The Anglo Chilean Society has awarded a grant to help renew some of the technological resources, which are in very poor condition. This support will enable students to access essential technology that plays a vital role in their educational development and personal growth.
